Willis Jermaine Caddell

Willis Jermaine Caddell

April 27, 1978 – July 2, 2026

Willis Jermaine Caddell was born on April 27, 1978, to Willie and Yvette (Mone’) Caddell in Moore County, North Carolina. He grew up in the robust community of Eagle Springs, North Carolina raised amongst his tight-knit family and close friends. Willis was committed to being the glue of his family. His love was shown through his care for his big sister, Tychinna, his niece, Petrice, his nephew, Jordan, and his beloved life-long friend and brother, Sambio “Chub.”

Willis attended West End schools and graduated from Pinecrest High School in the class of 1996. Being highly proficient in mathematics and computers, Willis moved to Greensboro, North Carolina, to attend ECPI University, where he graduated in June 2001, earning his Associate’s Degree and certifications. Willis’ entrepreneurial spirit was relentless, crafting a business under the Martin’s Potato Bread Company brand for 20 years. Willis was sure to help create opportunities under the Martin’s brand for his family and friends. He trained and vouched for those he referred and always wanted them to rise in the company and receive the same benefits he had. He shared a very special, loving bond with those he worked with at the company.

In the early stages of his adulthood, Willis married his high school sweetheart, Leticia Drakeford Caddell, on September 14, 2002. Their union produced two beautiful daughters, Kimyani Deja Caddell and Avion Rianna Caddell. Willis and Leticia built their life together in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Willis was charismatic, with a magnetic and charming personality. He will always be fondly remembered as playful, loving to make those around him laugh. He took great pleasure in advising his family and friends, whether it was solicited or not. He delighted in gadgets and technology. He loved playing the Xbox and PC gaming with his special crew of guys. He was the best at trash talking and namecalling (you know who you are). Willis was truly a light for those he loved and those who loved him.

Those left to cherish fond memories of Willis are, his wife, Leticia Caddell; his daughters, Kimyani Caddell and Avion Caddell; his parents, Willie and Mone’ Caddell; his grandmother, Ms. Costella Brower “Mama Stell”; his sister, Tychinna Caddell; a special niece, Petrice Caddell; a special nephew, Jordan Caddell; his friend/
brother, Sambio Kennedy “Chub”; his father-in-law, John Drakeford; his sister-in-law, Jessica Freeman (Travis); a brother-in-law, Joshua Drakeford; his uncles, Richard Gillis (Fannie) and Byron “Kenny” Brower (Carmen); his aunts, Pauline Smith (Leonard “Buster”) and Cathy Gillis; his nieces, Qeinyla Ross, Elleni Freeman, Journey Freeman and Gavyn Freeman; his close cousins who were raised alongside Willis
as siblings; and a host of extended family members and friends.
