Mrs. Ruth Olivia Baldwin, daughter of the late Willie Criscoe and Cynthia Cole Criscoe, was born July 15, 1939, in Moore County, North Carolina.
On Friday, November 19, 2021, she peacefully transitioned from this earthly life in Eagle Springs, North Carolina.
Ruth accepted the Lord at a young age. She joined Leak Grove, later renamed Holy Way Church of the Living Word in Eagle Springs, North Carolina. She served faithfully as the Ordained Missionary President, Choir President/ Director, and Teacher of The Adult Sunday School Class. Ruth attended Pinckney High School in Carthage, North Carolina, where she graduated with high honors as Salutatorian of her class.
Ruth was employed at Gilead Manufacturing in Candor, North Carolina, for many, many years, until her grandson Charles Jr. was born. Then, being a Master Seamstress, Ruth decided to open her own business in Eagle Springs, North Carolina.
Ruth’s father, Willie Criscoe, her mother, Cynthia Criscoe, two brothers, Leonard and Billy Criscoe, and one sister, Mary Beal, preceded her in death.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Matthew Allen Baldwin of the home; two sons, Larry Foust (Yvonne) of Greensboro, North Carolina, and Charles Baldwin (Angela) of Eagle Springs, North Carolina; one grandson, Charles Jr.; one granddaughter, Camille Stewart of Greensboro, North Carolina; one great-granddaughter, Reid Stewart; one brother, Carl Criscoe (Donna) of Eagle Springs, North Carolina; two sisters, Joyce Bunch (Greg) of Eagle Springs, North Carolina, and Helen Linder of Fayetteville, North Carolina; two sisters-in-law, Ruby Criscoe of Eagle Springs, North Carolina and Mickey Criscoe of Boston, Massachusetts; one goddaughter Shelia Cole; one godson, Joshua Smith; two little boys who affectionately called her Grandma, James and Jayden Ratliff of Eagle Springs, North Carolina, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
