March 29, 1944 – February 4, 2025
Pastor Odessa Mae Talley, daughter of the late Deacon Robert and Fannie Stancil Little, was born on March 29, 1944, in Montgomery County in Candor, NC. She departed this earthly life on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at the FirstHealth Hospice House in West End, NC.
She received her education from Montgomery County Public Schools and graduated from Peabody High School. She received her Associate of Applied Science Degree in Cosmetology from Sandhills Community College and an Associate of Applied Science Degree from Montgomery Community College in Human Resource Services. Odessa was employed at Springs Mills Industry in Biscoe, NC, for many years until it closed.
In 1972 she was born again and joined Silome FWB Church under the late Bishop Clifton Rouse. There, she became his assistant in all church affairs. When Bishop Rouse passed away, she became the pastor.
Her favorite scripture was Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” For the Lord strengthened her throughout the years to complete her mission. She loved going to church, where you would find her unapologetically dancing and praising the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Fannie Stancil Little, sisters, Rosa Mae Ray and Mary Graves, and brothers, Robert Little, Jr., and Chester Little.
She leaves to cherish loving memories, her children, Sherry Orellana (Oscar) of Star, NC, Sandra Whiteside (Tony) of Sanford, NC, Valerie Conrad of Candor, NC, and Travis Talley (friend Kiera) also of Candor; six grandchildren, Gemarian (James), Sabrena (AJ), Marcus, Jonathan (Nicole), Gabrielle, and Jessica; four great-grandchildren; two siblings, Roger Little (Cheryl) and Laura Hill (John); and a host
of nieces, nephews, other family members, and many church family friends.
