Larry Morrell Ratliff

Larry M. Ratliff was born on April 16, 1952, in Morven, North Carolina, to the late Mary Helen Ratliff and George Dixon. A graduate of the North Carolina school system, he joined the United States Army upon graduation, embarking on a 20-year military career. Larry planted roots in Washington, DC, where he worked in security, serving as a security officer at George Washington University and later as a federal correctional officer before retiring.

Larry loved life and celebrated it with passion. A social butterfly, he brought joy to any gathering with his dancing, storytelling, and laughter. Larry transitioned on January 3, 2025, after a life well-lived.

He is survived by his five daughters: Hope, Hollie (Antoine), Marrell (Travis), Gabrielle, and Destine; two grandchildren, Ryan and Morgan; two sisters, Phyliss Dunham and Beverly Spencer; and a host of extended family and friends who will cherish his memory forever.
