David Sterling Evans was born on May 31, 1990 in Prince Georges County, MD. Sterling departed his life September 14, 202 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital, NC.
David graduated from Dudley High School of Guilford County and attended North Carolina Central University for two years majoring in Business. He attended Temple Church of Christ. Sterling was tutor in middle school and his favorite sport was football. His favorite NFL Team was the Dallas Cowboys. He played with Dudley High School Football Team and they made history by winning the Championship in 2008 which was the first team state to win since integration that year. David loved basketball, loved to rap, was very outgoing and loved to smile.
David was preceded in death by his grandmother, Bernice Ratliff, great-grandparents, Thomas and Mollie Covington, and great-grandmother Elnora Evans.
David leaves to cherish his memory: his loving mother and father David (Redd) Evans and Mary (Penny) Evans of Greensboro, NC. Four sisters Kelly Smith (Stafford, Va.) Kandice Smith (Alexandria, Va.), Kadejahh Knight (Knoxville, TN.), Jwahnn Evans (Asheboro, Nc.). Two grandparents Ms. Evelyn Evans of Jackson Springs, NC, and William Ratliff (LillyMae) of Rockingham NC. Four Uncles and Aunts Russel Covington (Pearline) of Greensboro NC, Antonia Evans (Tracy-deceased) of Rockingham NC, Gerald Ratliff (Karen) of Greensboro NC, and Adrian Ratliff (Dorlisa) of Greensboro NC. One nephew, Aric Smith, god-mother, Sallie Patterson and a host of great aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

I’ve come to this page twice trying to think of what to say. I don’t know what happened an honestly I don’t want to know. But what I do know is that you didn’t deserve it. I’ll miss that big smile you always had that made your eyes chinky as if you were Chinese. Smh I wish we would have conversed the last time I saw you makes me sad to know that that would be the last time I would see you living, breathing and smiling. They say not to question gods work but I would give anything to know why you? We had a different type of bond that only you and I would understand. You will truly be missed but never forgotten!! I’m sooooo Late!!! And I am truly sorry! I SAW YOUR TAG MS. PENNY AND IT SENT MY MIND WONDERING WHY I HAVNT SEEN HIM IN FOREVERRRRRRR… Proud Mary!!! This has been my buddy since I moved to the neighborhood in 2001 when we was 11. Wow.
