January 24, 1960 – July 31, 2023
Bernard Davis, affectionately known as “Tom” by many, and as a great man by all. Bernard was born on January 24, 1960, to the late Harold White and Beatrice Davis in Troy, N.C. He peacefully transitioned from his earthly life into his heavenly one on July 31, 2023, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, N.C.
Bernard met the love of his life, Robin Little Davis. They shared an amazing twenty-six years of marriage. Three children were born to this union; precious daughters, Asia and Jada Davis, and a handsome son Jordan Davis.
Bernard took pride in keeping up his yard, spending most of his time making sure it looked beautiful. He enjoyed watching wrestling, but more than anything, he loved spending time with his family! He loved going on family vacations and attending family gatherings. Most recently, he was able to go on his family reunion cruise on July 17- 22, 2023, to the Dominican Republic and Turks & Caicos, which he thoroughly enjoyed.
Bernard’s main priority was taking care of his family, ensuring they had everything they needed. Bernard helped open Brown Creek Correctional Institution in 1992. He was also employed for fifteen years with Southern Correctional Institution in Troy, N.C. He retired from Mid-state Toyota in Asheboro, where he was an Elite Toyota Sales Pro for over ten years. At the time of his passing, he was employed at Pinehurst Resort Golf Course.
Bernard was educated in Brutonville Elementary School and graduated from East Montgomery High School, Class of 1978, in Biscoe, N.C. He was a personable gentleman who never met a stranger and showed compassion to everyone he encountered.
He followed his faith and religious path with God at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Brutonville, N.C. He made sure his family was deeply rooted in Christ.
Bernard was preceded in death by his parents, Harold White and Beatrice Davis, and four siblings, Haroldine Crowder, Willie Pearl Davis (Ben), Mary McDonald, and Harold White Jr.
Those left to celebrate and cherish his life are his wife, Robin Davis of Candor, NC; his three children; Asia Davis, Jada Davis and Jordan Davis all of Candor; one sister, Sharon Davis of Southern Pines, NC; two brothers, Henry Davis of Woodland, NC, and Eugene Davis of Mt. Gilead, NC; one sister-in-law, Molly Davis of Woodland, NC; and a host of family and friends.

My condolences to the family:
I was in admiration of Bernard. The love (unconditional) that he had for his family; and the love (unconditional) they had for him was truly something to be admired. The unconditional love tested through tribulation and trials; but then celebrated because of its triumph over adversity. We all should aspire to be as blessed.
Rest in the best memories. That’s where God is.
